Holidays
Holiday celebrations are an exciting part of the early childhood experience at Ganon Gil. Families are invited and enjoy sharing in their children's emerging Jewish identity.
Here is a brief description of some of the fun events:
- High Holidays - Special observances of Rosh Hashanhah and Yom Kippur
- Sukkot - Party in the Sukkah! Enjoy the bounty of the season by making fruit salad and crafts with the Senior Program
- Simchat Torah - Lots of singing and dancing around the sanctuary
- Creation - Children dress in their favorite animal costume for a "Noah Parade"
- Thanksgiving - Families gather for a pot luck feast luncheon
- Chanukah - Children perform for their parents, followed by games, lots of latkas and other traditional food
- Tu B'Shvat - Raise money to plant trees in Israel and gather for a pajama story night with music and a 7-species seder
- Purim - Early childhood oriented carnival and the making (and eating!) of hamantaschen
- Pesach - Rabbi and Cantor visit for a family seder
- Shalom Picnic - Year-end celebration with games, promotion ceremony and lunch
