Baruchim Haba'im! Welcome to the Prachim Class! Prachim means flower in Hebrew - and we are certainly blooming every day. Nurturance and establishing a sense of trust and security are important goals of our classroom. With love, consistent routines and a welcoming environment for families, the children feel comfortable in our warm and stimulating classroom and outdoor environments. Through out the day the curriculum is planned to meet the needs of the whole child, including social interaction opportunities, imaginary play, small and large motor skills, cognitive activities such as puzzles, stories and manipulative materials as well as creative expression and music. There is balance of structured time and free play designed to promote independence, initiative, confidence and competence in each child.
Every one to two weeks a new theme is introduced, which includes art, stories, dramatic play, and foods associated with the theme. Our school has a wonderful play ground which serves as an outdoor classroom, as well an environment for encouraging healthy physical fitness. There is ample shade to provide year round use.
A strong Judaic program is an integral part of the program. This includes holidays, customs, ceremonies, and Hebrew language. For families who are not Jewish, the values promoted are conducive to inspiring good future citizens of the world and very worthwhile learning for all faiths and secular backgrounds.
